About me

Hi, I’m Melissa, a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, food lover, wannabe urban homesteader and the heart of Melissa’s Wellnest.

At Melissa’s Wellnest, I want to help people feel like themselves again by focusing on five foundational pillars: digestion, nutrient dense food, blood sugar balance, stress support, and sleep. Because when those are in sync, everything else falls into place- energy, mood, hormones and even that stubborn bloating.

But let’s get one thing straight: I’m not here to sell you perfection. I believe in balance-the kind where a nourishing home cooked meal and an occasional In-n-Out cheeseburger can coexist. Because joy is part of wellness too.

For nearly two years, I’ve also worked at a health-focused restaurant and retail space rooted in the philosophy of “healthy gut, healthy life.” There, I've been immersed in the power of whole, intentional food: long fermented sourdough, fermented veggies like kraut and kimchi, kombucha and cooking practices that steer clear of seed oils. It’s where my love for gut health deepened, and it’s also where I saw how healing can be both practical and delicious.

Before that, I spent over a decade in conventional healthcare as a diet technician. I loved helping people but I kept feeling like something was missing. The system often overlooked the healing power of real food, rest and listening to our bodies. So I took a different path, one that feels more aligned, more holistic, and more human.

Outside of work, you can find me in the kitchen baking, growing veggies in my little garden, tending to my chickens and embracing my inner grandma with a good garden-to-table meal. I believe food should be nourishing and delicious, wellness should be doable, and healing should always include joy.

Whether you’re feeling off and you don’t know why, or just ready to feel more like yourself again, I’m here to help- no judgement, just real support.

Let’s build your Wellnest, with nourishment, rest, and a whole lot of grace.

While my services are still in the works, I’m gathering a small community of people who want to learn more about foundational wellness.
